About Ruby Rings by David West
Rings have long symbolized the circle of life. At Gemvara, we believe that the rings you wear should be one of a kind, like you. That's why our rings are made to order in your choice of conflict-free gems and recycled precious metals. Choose peridot and platinum or green amethyst and white gold: it's your choice. Mix and match gems and precious metals for a look that's exactly you. It's jewelry for all life's occasions, from an anniversary or graduation to your own personal milestones and celebrations. Our unrivalled selection of designs by Bijoux & Bijoux, Jessica Behzad, Ruzanna Davtian, and other talented jewelry designers means you can find a ring that's just your style. Because all Gemvara ruby rings are made to order, we can hand-select the finest quality materials to perfectly suit your design. Worn by passionate women with a flair for the dramatic, ruby is the gem of courage and emotion. Its fiery brilliance attracts the eye and quickens the pulse. Gemvara hand-selects ruby with exceptional color to suit your design. Be careful when removing rings to wash your hands. Don't leave your ring on the rim of a sink where it can slip down the drain! Clean ruby rings with mild dish soap: use a soft brush where dust collects. Gemvara's fine quality ruby rings are designed to be passed down for generations to come, crafted by hand in the United States.
David West's striking jewelry designs have often been described as architectural, perhaps because at a young age his architect grandfather taught him to appreciate form, space, line, and proportion, as well as a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. A passionate designer, master goldsmith, gemologist, and entrepreneur, David has been involved in nearly every aspect of design during his long career. After training at Rhode Island School of Design and Rochester Institute of Technology's School for the American Crafts, he launched his career as a jewelry designer. In 1985, David won the prestigious De Beers Diamonds Today Award. One of the first designers to use computer-aided design, David continues to innovate today. As you might expect from such a distinguished career, David's designs are very refined and elegant, with pure clean lines. He strives to create beautiful classic jewelry items that stand the test of time.
Known as the gem of courage and passion, a ruby is not for the timid. Its bold hue entices the eye and hastens the pulse. When buying a ruby, the most important element to consider is color. Pure, vivid fire-engine-red rubies are the most valuable. Cut and clarity also factor into value. The larger the carat weight, the more the ruby will cost per carat. Gemvara only sells premium, hand-selected rubies, where they are natural and have an exceptional quality. Gemvara offers only rubies from inventories in the United States. A fine-colored ruby is so desirable that producers take extra care to make sure that the ruby has the best hue possible. Before their final polish, most rubies are heat-enhanced to almost 2,000 degrees in order to improve the color and clarity. This stable treatment does not require special care and does not reduce the gem's value. Ruby is the July birthstone, the 15th and 40th anniversary gem, and the zodiac gem for the sign of Cancer. All Gemvara jewelry is made to order, which ensures that a premium-quality ruby will be hand-selected to perfectly suit your design. Crafted in the United States, Gemvara's fine ruby jewelry is precious and personal, surely to be passed down for generations to come.
