About Ruby Classic Rings by David West
Rings are potent symbols of power, the circle of life, and promises to keep. At Gemvara, we believe that the rings you wear should be one of a kind, like you. That's why all our rings are made from scratch in your choice of gems and precious metals. Choose diamond and sterling silver or fire opal and palladium: it's your choice. Mix and match gems and precious metals for a look that's exactly you. It's jewelry for all life's occasions, from a wedding or Mother's Day to your own personal milestones and celebrations. Our impressive selection of ruby classic rings by Just Like You Designs, Gemvara Essentials, David West, and many other jewelry designers means you can find a style that's perfect for you. Because all Gemvara ruby classic rings are made to order, we can hand-select the finest quality materials to perfectly suit your design. Worn by passionate women with a flair for the dramatic, ruby is the gem of courage and emotion. Its fiery brilliance attracts the eye and quickens the pulse. Gemvara hand-selects ruby with exceptional color to suit your design. Be careful when washing your hands: rings can easily slip down the drain! Clean ruby classic rings in a bowl of water with a little mild dish soap. You can use a soft brush where dust collects. Gemvara's fine quality ruby classic rings are designed to be passed down for generations, hand-crafted by skilled craftspeople in the United States.
David West's striking jewelry designs have often been described as architectural, perhaps because at a young age his architect grandfather taught him to appreciate form, space, line, and proportion, as well as a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. A passionate designer, master goldsmith, gemologist, and entrepreneur, David has been involved in nearly every aspect of design during his long career. After training at Rhode Island School of Design and Rochester Institute of Technology's School for the American Crafts, he launched his career as a jewelry designer. In 1985, David won the prestigious De Beers Diamonds Today Award. One of the first designers to use computer-aided design, David continues to innovate today. As you might expect from such a distinguished career, David's designs are very refined and elegant, with pure clean lines. He strives to create beautiful classic jewelry items that stand the test of time.
Known as the gem of courage and passion, a ruby is not for the timid. Its bold hue entices the eye and hastens the pulse. When buying a ruby, the most important element to consider is color. Pure, vivid fire-engine-red rubies are the most valuable. Cut and clarity also factor into value. The larger the carat weight, the more the ruby will cost per carat. Gemvara only sells premium, hand-selected rubies, where they are natural and have an exceptional quality. Gemvara offers only rubies from inventories in the United States. A fine-colored ruby is so desirable that producers take extra care to make sure that the ruby has the best hue possible. Before their final polish, most rubies are heat-enhanced to almost 2,000 degrees in order to improve the color and clarity. This stable treatment does not require special care and does not reduce the gem's value. Ruby is the July birthstone, the 15th and 40th anniversary gem, and the zodiac gem for the sign of Cancer. All Gemvara jewelry is made to order, which ensures that a premium-quality ruby will be hand-selected to perfectly suit your design. Crafted in the United States, Gemvara's fine ruby jewelry is precious and personal, surely to be passed down for generations to come.
