Triscele Shield Pendant

Round Ruby Sterling Silver Necklace by David West

The powerful interlocking triple spiral shape of this pendant design by David West is the triscele, an ancient Celtic symbol representing the three realms of earth, sea, and sky or mind, body, and spirit. The outer shield makes the three spirals one, surrounding the center gemstone. In the seventh century Book of Kells, the triscele represents the trinity. About the Designer

David West

David West's striking jewelry designs have often been described as architectural, perhaps because at a young age his architect grandfather taught him to appreciate form, space, line, and proportion, as well as a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. A passionate designer, master goldsmith, gemologist, and entrepreneur, David has been involved in nearly every aspect of design during his long career. After training at Rhode Island School of Design and Rochester Institute of Technology's School for the American Crafts, he launched his career as a jewelry designer. In 1985, David won the prestigious De Beers Diamonds Today Award. One of the first designers to use computer-aided design, David continues to innovate today. As you might expect from such a distinguished career, David's designs are very refined and elegant, with pure clean lines. He strives to create beautiful classic jewelry items that stand the test of time.
