Amethyst immediately captures the eye with its regal purple hue. Princess cut gems have the sparkle of a round brilliant with the contemporary geometry of a square. Our wide selection of princess amethyst jewelry by Randy Dixon, Danielle Meshorer, Bijoux & Bijoux, and other talented designers means you can find rings, earrings, and necklaces that are exactly your style. You can also shop by style, choosing our Geometric, Romantic, or Timeless Hearts Collections. When our work is done and you open that box, you'll see your design is even more beautiful when brought to life in the finest precious materials.
Stephanie Satow was born to design jewelry. When she was young, her jeweler father taught her how to cut the heads out of pennies with a jeweler's saw. That attention to detail informs her design to this day. After completing her training in jewelry design and fabrication by the age of 18, Stephanie knew she had found her calling. Stephanie's designs are classically tailored but with a feminine touch. A strong but elegant curve often breaks the plane of her design, rounding edges. She has an instinctive feel for what will make luxurious jewelry that will work every day, with everything you wear.
The gem of peace and sobriety, the name "amethyst" comes from a Greek the word meaning "not drunken." According to the ancient Greeks, this wine-colored gem had the power to keep you sober. Amethyst is often used in religious settings as a symbol of piety and celibacy. Tibetan Buddhists meditate using amethyst rosaries to calm the mind and Bishop's rings often feature an amethyst. Color is the most important element in amethyst quality: the more vibrant and bright the lavender purple hue, the more valuable the amethyst. Gemvara's amethyst is a rich purple that complements both warm and cool colors. A well-cut amethyst is also important because the right cut will maximize the color and well as allow the amethyst to sparkle in the light. Amethyst is the February birthstone and the 6th and 17th anniversary gem. All Gemvara jewelry is made to order, which ensures that a premium-quality amethyst will be hand-selected to perfectly suit your design. Crafted in the United States, Gemvara's fine amethyst jewelry is precious and personal, surely to be passed down for generations to come.
