CAD Modeler

Department: Design
Reports To: President

DESCRIPTION:

From our headquarters in Lexington, Massachusetts, Gemvara is dedicated to providing a customer experience that is as personalized as our beautiful jewelry. Poised at the forefront of mass customization technology, we are experiencing exceptional growth. Do you have the passion, drive and talent for excellence? We are looking for a visionary CAD Modeler to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with Content & Manufacturing on SOP for types of pieces for the site (specs for rings as an example)
Make all sizing changes for pieces that are ordered and upload into OMS and W drive
Make all fixes to designs (as required) in order to ensure manufacturability once an order has been placed
Make all sizing changes to more complicated pieces in advance of ordering designs for pieces identified by merchandising
Scale simple designs in advance of sale for pieces identified by merchandising
Make modifications to designs (as allowed) as requested by sales
Pull CAD files and add band width to each design in the dbase (for future inclusion on site)
Enter data into dbase as to whether or not we are allowed to modify a designers design or not
Turn some of our most popular designs into series (as time allows)
Be flexible to help out Fulfillment as needed.

DESIRED BACKGROUND:

3+ years experience with Matrix/ Rhino
Some jewelry experience required

Project Manager

Reports To: Director of Product Management

DESCRIPTION:

The Project Manager will work closely with the Merchandising, Marketing, Fulfillment, Development and Product Management teams to ensure all operational milestones are being met and escalated appropriately.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure that expectations for deliverables remain aligned with the ability to deliver. Makes the commitment to deliver to the management team and is responsible for meeting that commitment.
Ensure that the teams working on the projects are fully aware of expectations and helps clear obstacles to success.
Work with the Director of Product Management to control and coordinate changes to the overall site experience and platforms, including new feature requests and other special projects.
Help develop and align a deployment roadmap, harmonizing internal group capabilities with the product roadmap. Work with product management to drive requests into the product roadmap as appropriate.
Maintain the overall project plan, indicating all deliverables, as well as key dependencies, on projects.
Maintain awareness and control of the individual projects via weekly reports and reviews and, where needed, more detailed interaction.

DESIRED BACKGROUND:

Experience working within agile development environment
Experience in ecommerce or digital media
Above average working knowledge in JIRA, MS Project
Demonstrated strong performance in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and independence.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex operational and strategic initiatives.

You will assess each piece individually while documenting and recording each step of the process along the way. Your organization skills and attention to detail will be the key to your success. Working closely with the Production Coordinator, we are relying on you to inspect every step of our jewelry manufacturing process. Gemvara is growing quickly and that sometimes translates to a hectic environment. We need someone who is patient and exceptional at following protocol. Our goal is to find a Quality Assurance Assistant to make sure we ship the highest quality jewelry possible to each and every customer.

This is a unique opportunity for the person looking to be able to work from home. We are looking for individuals with excellent verbal and written communication skills to act as personal shoppers to our customers. If you love working with people and helping them get exactly what they want, this position is perfect for you. You must have a sense of style, stay current on fashion trends and know and appreciate the classics as well. You will help people get from thousands of unique designs to that one perfect item just for them. The hours for this position are evenings and Saturdays.

DESIRED BACKGROUND:

This person must love talking to people, be willing to learn to answer basic jewelry related questions and be passionate about providing outstanding customer service every day. You must be able to write in a friendly, advisory way with the ability to be succinct. This person will have excellent communication and organizational skills. They will have minimum 1-3 years sales experience and/or customer service experience. They should be results and detail oriented. They should have a general understanding of technology and using e-commerce sites, but an in-depth technology background is not necessary. This person will be a creative problem solver. Jewelry background a plus. Passion for beautiful jewelry a must!
