About Diamond Celtic Jewelry by David West
The never-ending Celtic knots depicted on our diamond celtic jewelry symbolize the interconnectedness of life. The designs of Celtic rings are inspired by the art and manuscripts of medieval Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Endless interwoven knots, looping braids, interlaced lines and distinctive crosses give Celtic rings their unique and distinctive style that appeals to people all around the world. The most beautiful diamond celtic jewelry and Celtic wedding rings have patterns inspired by the famous Book of Kells, an illuminated Gospel from the year 800 with exquisite illustrations. Claddagh rings, with a design of a crowned heart held between two hands symbolizing love, friendship and loyalty, are the most popular celtic rings. One of the most popular symbols in diamond celtic jewelry is the Triqueta, a three-sided symbol of the trinity. The triqueta also refers to the nature's air, earth, and water and man's mind, body, and spirit. Gemvara selects the finest possible materials to make our diamond celtic jewelry to order, just for you. Our precious metals are recycled or responsibly mined. The ancient Greeks called diamond "adamas," meaning invincible, theorizing that something so beautiful must be the crystallized teardrops of the gods. Gemvara's diamonds are hand selected for fine quality: even small accent gems are H SI2 or better. Center diamonds have GIA or AGS reports confirming the exceptional quality. Gemvara's fine quality diamond celtic jewelry are handcrafted to our exacting standards in America.
David West's striking jewelry designs have often been described as architectural, perhaps because at a young age his architect grandfather taught him to appreciate form, space, line, and proportion, as well as a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. A passionate designer, master goldsmith, gemologist, and entrepreneur, David has been involved in nearly every aspect of design during his long career. After training at Rhode Island School of Design and Rochester Institute of Technology's School for the American Crafts, he launched his career as a jewelry designer. In 1985, David won the prestigious De Beers Diamonds Today Award. One of the first designers to use computer-aided design, David continues to innovate today. As you might expect from such a distinguished career, David's designs are very refined and elegant, with pure clean lines. He strives to create beautiful classic jewelry items that stand the test of time.
Produced deep within the depths of the earth over a million years ago, a diamond is one of the most well-known and sought-after gemstones in the world. The ancient Greeks called the diamond "adamas," meaning invincible and theorized that something so beautiful could only come from the gods. Romans thought diamonds must have been fallen stars. Today diamonds have become the universal symbol of "forever" and most couples around the globe mark their engagement with a diamond ring. When shopping for diamond jewelry you must keep in mind the 4Cs: color, clarity, cut and carat weight. All these factor into the quality of the diamond. Less is more when it comes to color and clarity: the gems with the least amount of color and the fewest inclusions are the most rare and valued. On the other hand, bigger is better when it comes to carat weight: the bigger the diamond, the higher the carat weight and the more it costs per carat. Cut is arguably the most important value factor because the quality of a diamond's cut gives it its life and sparkle. The diamonds Gemvara offers are exceptionally fine: a minimum G-H in color, at least SI2 in clarity, and cut to dazzle with brilliance. Diamond is the April birthstone and the gem of the 10th and 60th anniversary. All Gemvara jewelry is made to order, which ensures that a premium-quality diamond will be hand-selected to perfectly suit your design. Crafted in the United States, Gemvara's fine diamond jewelry is precious and personal, surely to be passed down for generations to come.
